Linguistic Babble

What is Linguistic Babbles?

I graduated from university with two majors in Linguistics and Cognitive Science. I went into higher education knowing that I am going to do something in the arts, but chose these majors simply because of my interests. Now I've graduated, I would still like to keep up my investigative spirit, and possibly plan to continue my education in this field. This is the space where I write all about my own self-directed research in Linguistics and the interesting things I read on this topic.

>> Tonal Alternations of Particle 'Ge' in the Wuxi Dialect

Estimated reading time: 10 min

Analysis of phnology in Wuxi-Chinese, the native language of my paternal family. This language is a descendant of the historical Wu state. It is considered politically a dialect of Mandarin Chinese, although it is not mutually-intelligible with Mandarin. I completed this as a project in my phonology class, but it's super interesting and thought I would share!
